Digital Health Information Systems Manager

Valor Health

Brian is the Digital Health Information Systems Manager at Valor Health.

At Seneca Health District, Brian Churchill's leadership in IT strategy was pivotal in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring strict regulatory compliance. Under his guidance, the successful implementation of Oracle Cerner’s EHR significantly improved population health outcomes in this remote community, reflecting the team’s deep commitment to exceptional patient care.

Previously, as a Healthcare Consultant for Ellit Groups, Brian applied his expertise in Workday, Oracle/Cerner, and Meditech systems to craft tailored solutions that addressed the complex needs of healthcare clients. In this role, he strengthened his skills in cybersecurity and risk management while fostering team development and driving innovative infrastructure strategies that supported both clinical and financial operations.

Brian’s 32-year tenure at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where he concluded his service as Chief Information Officer, was distinguished by his leadership and mentorship across IT infrastructure, clinical support, ERP support, desktop support, and communications. He played a key role in establishing new Project Management Office (PMO) and cybersecurity teams, ensuring IT strategies aligned with the hospital's overarching organizational goals.

From 2018 to 2022, his focus shifted toward leading major ERP and EHR replacement initiatives while maintaining strong internal support for Meditech’s acute and financial systems and Centricity’s ambulatory systems. Between 2018 and 2019, he managed the system selection process in collaboration with HealthNet, a consulting firm, to evaluate multiple solutions. This process culminated in the selection of Workday as the enterprise ERP, successfully integrating financials, human capital management, and supply chain operations.
