Mara Schenker, MD, is an orthopaedic trauma surgeon, Associate Professor, and Chief of Orthopaedics at Grady Memorial Hospital. In addition to her clinical role, she serves as the Associate Chief Medical Information Officer for Grady, is board certified in clinical informatics, and holds extensive certifications in EHR build and analytics. Dr. Schenker contributes to the Epic Steering Board for Orthopaedics and participates on several medical and digital technology advisory boards. She is also an active member of major national committees for organizations such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, AAMC, the American College of Surgeons, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.

As a former World Champion in Taekwondo (2001), Dr. Schenker has a particular interest in the intersection of sports and surgery, focusing on human performance optimization.

Her clinical practice is based at Grady Memorial Hospital, one of the busiest trauma centers in the United States and the only Level 1 trauma center in Atlanta, GA. Over the past 7 years, Dr. Schenker has performed approximately 3,000 orthopaedic trauma-related surgeries.
