The gathering

What to expect

City Tour Dinners are evening gatherings hosted in cities across the country. A small group of regional healthcare IT leaders comes together over dinner for candid, off-the-record conversation with peers who understand their market — the ideas, vendors, and pressures specific to their region.

The best conversations happen over dinner, among people who get it.

Our story

Why 229?

With the first confirmed COVID-19 case on February 29th in the United States came grief, confusion, and an overwhelming burden on our healthcare system.

229 was founded on the belief that bringing health IT leaders into small, intentional conversations could carry forward the kind of innovation and collaboration that emerged in the months after February 29th — the date the name remembers.

The difference

What makes a 229 gathering distinct

A small, local peer group — the people navigating your market.
A relaxed dinner setting that invites candid, off-the-record conversation.
Facilitated peer-to-peer discussion, not a sales presentation.
Relationship building over a shared meal.

The payoff

What you’ll take away

A trusted peer advisory group you can call on long after the event ends.
Honest, facilitated dialogue you won’t find on a webinar or a trade-show floor.
Ideas and solutions peer health systems have actually put into practice.
A professional network built intentionally, not left to chance.
Time to step back, reflect, and invest in yourself.
Relationships with people who share your drive to improve healthcare.

The topics were highly relevant and sparked genuinely engaging, organic conversations — the time really flew by. I especially appreciated the balance of security and AI. These tour dinners continue to be a highlight.

A great experience meeting and engaging with peers in person. The environment was easy and comfortable, and everyone openly shared ideas — we could have easily spent the whole night exchanging knowledge.
