The gathering
What to expect
Summits are our flagship multi-day events. A curated group of senior healthcare leaders gathers in a retreat-style setting for facilitated, peer-to-peer discussion on a small number of high-priority topics. We started with CIOs, CISOs, and CMIOs, and are expanding into new leadership communities — but the format stays the same: depth over breadth, and real conversations with people who face the same decisions you do.
The room is small on purpose — so every voice in it counts.
Who it’s for
A summit for every role
We host summits across a growing set of healthcare leadership roles. Here are the seats at the table.
Our story
Why 229?
With the first confirmed COVID-19 case on February 29th in the United States came grief, confusion, and an overwhelming burden on our healthcare system.
229 was founded on the belief that bringing health IT leaders into small, intentional conversations could carry forward the kind of innovation and collaboration that emerged in the months after February 29th — the date the name remembers.
The experience
Why attend

Curated Peer Group
Small, senior groups mean every attendee is a contributor — not a face in a crowd.

Focused Agenda
A handful of topics explored in depth, rather than a firehose of back-to-back sessions.

Retreat Setting
Exceptional venues built for relationship building — and you are welcome to bring your plus one.

The community is real, and the formula works.

Jason Singer
VP of Enterprise Sales, Sublimation Health
229 is exactly the type of forum I have been looking for. What sets it apart is the depth and honesty of the conversations — and the new relationships you’ll walk away with. I found a community of leaders asking bigger questions about where healthcare is heading, and what role we need to play in shaping it.

Donna Wellbaum
CNIO, UCLA Health
The value I receive from 229 events is far beyond any conference I have attended. You meet your peers, build relationships, and gain insight into the healthcare-specific challenges we’re all dealing with — regardless of the size of your organization. I’d highly recommend any healthcare IT leader attend.
